It is of high importance to all anti-imperialists all over the world to remember the Korean people’s victory against imperialism on July 27, 1953. The end of the Fatherland Liberation War and the signing of the armistice in the village of Panmunjom showed the strength and invincibility of the Korean People’s Army and the first defeat of world imperialism in general, and US imperialism in particular. Millions of foreign troops were located in Korea during the war. The US, who had total control over the UNSC, launched the invasion of Korea by passing UN Resolution 84. Along with the US and the fascist dictator Syngman Rhee’s south Korea, the following countries invaded the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK): Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Ethiopia, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Norway and India.
The US who had only a few years earlier used nuclear bombs against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, did once again consider to use nuclear weapons against the Korean people. As early as by the start of the war, the psychopathic general Douglas MacArthur wanted to us nuclear weapons against the Korean people, even though he had the knowledge of the destructive power the bomb would bring with it. This was a continuous threat throughout the war, but have also been since ever since, which is why the DPRK had been forced to develop their own nuclear weapons for self-defense. Nuclear blackmail were used for the first time in history by US president Eisenhower against People’s Republic of China (PRC) and DPRK. The British imperialists did also consider nuclear blackmail against PRC in 1961 and against Argentina in 1982 during the Falklands War.
Nuclear blackmail is usually something that is portrayed in the media as being used by the “enemies of the West”(for example Libya, Iran and the DPRK and Iraq, who the US knew before invading the country that they didn’t possess any). Nuclear blackmail in fiction is typically the work of a supervillain. In reality, nuclear blackmail is used by the imperialists to reach their sinister goals.
DPRK have since its birth been living under constant threats, blackmail and all sort of heinous methods by the US imperialists. Even though the imperialist aggressors who invaded Korea were technologically superior, they could never beat the Korean people guided by the President Kim Il Sung and the Juche idea in their fight for their very existence, and they couldn’t do it today either.
